Vacation in Jackson Hole

This trip was for the celebration of hubby's birthday and our "legal" anniversary. We had an incredible fun and relaxing time in Jackson Hole!!!! Enjoyed spa facilities, lil' shopping, great dining, beautiful scenery, fascinating wildlife and a geyser eruption with the right timing!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Jackson Hole is one of the most popular ski destinations in United States. The Grand Targhee Resort Ski Areas, Jackson Hole Mountain Resort, Snow King, Grand Teton and Yellowstone National Parks are major tourism attractions throughout all seasons of the year. During winter, popular activities include skiing, snowboarding, snowmobiling, snowshoeing etc. As for summer, tourists come here for rafting, fishing, horse riding, hiking and camping, biking, kayaking and canoeing etc. You can also enjoy national park tours and scenic flights too.

Hubby and I drove up to Yellowstone which took 4 hours of driving for a return trip. The scenery drive along Yellowstone was simply awesome!!!!!!!! Yellowstone National Park is well-known for its wildlife and geothermal features and areas such as geysers, mud pots, hot springs, fumaroles. The Old Faithful Geyser is one of the most popular and famous areas in the park. It is known as Old Faithful Geyser because of its regular eruptions every 90 minutes or so. An eruption lasts 1.5 to 5 minutes, expels 3,700 - 8,400 gallons (14,000 - 32,000 liters) of boiling water, and reaches heights of 106 - 184 feet (30 - 55m). We were told by the locals that Old Faithful Geyser is becoming "less faithful".... perhaps due to earthquakes. However Old Faithful Geyser was still kind and "faithful" to hubby and me. We caught the eruption within 5 minutes upon our arrival on the boardwalks - Lucky Us!!!!!!

On our way back to Jackson Hole, we actually made a stop here to take pictures and video of the panoramic view of these mountains!!!!!

We chose Four Seasons Resort for our lodging. Since May is a shoulder or off-peak season in Jackson Hole, there weren't many tourists. The services in Four Seasons were impressive as usual!!! Knowing that this trip was for birthday and anniversary celebrations, the hotel actually presented us with some complimentary wine, champagne and chocolate coated strawberries!!!!!!!!!!! So sweet yah???

From our room, we had a marvellous view of the mountains covered with snow...





We had most of our meals in the hotel, either in-room dining or the restaurant in Four Seasons (Westbank Grill). The food for lunch and dinner were very delicious (though we always ordered the same few dishes from the menu) as compared to breakfast which was rather bland - nothing much to rave about.

We had brunch on the 3rd day at Westbank Grill again. Since I wanted something hot.... I ordered a bowl of minestrone soup as appetizer.....

Again, I had the same Crispy Skinned Salmon as my main course... Yeah.. it was the same dish. Why? Cos it was soooooooooo yummy lor....

Hubby was having a Burger!!!!! He loved it!!!!

Since we were not able to get a table in the recommended restaurant on Hubby's Birthday, we actually had a lil' celebration in the hotel. Herm...so what prezziesss did Hubby receive??

We also had dinner at 2 popular and famous restaurants in Jackson Hole for the 2 special occasions. Reservations are DEFINITELY HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!!!!!! Overall, I would give my vote to Wild Sage!!!!!

Wild Sage
We had first planned to dine in this restaurant during Hubby's birthday. However, it was FULLY BOOKED even though we tried to make the reservation 5 days in advance. We managed to get a table the next day at 8.15pm (a belated birthday celebration for hubby). It offers fine dining regional cuisine and the freshest seafood. The interior of the restaurant is contemporary and cozy and can seat only 26 people (6 tables). An open-plan kinda kitchen (exhibition style kitchen) where customer can see the chefs doing their cooking. After food, customers can enjoy wine and small talk at the sitting area warmed by a river rock fireplace. The food and service were generally excellent, if a little slow. I'd have given it a better rating if they could serve the food faster so as to curb my hunger.....but then again, it is a fine dining restaurant which means food will come slower. Would give yummy rating of 9/10, ambiance rating: 8/10 and service rating: 7/10.

We had dinner at this restaurant for our anniversary. Atmosphere and decor are casual and stylish and the wood fireplace adds an extra touch. Service is efficient and the food is delicious.
Would give yummy rating of 7.5/10, ambiance rating: 7.5/10 and service rating: 8/10.

Jackson Hole is not my kind of shopping heaven!!!! Instead, there are many art and jewelery Galleries, shops that sell winter clothings and accessories and souvenirs.

You guys would think that there's no shopping for me?

Ahem..... Known as a shopaholic....I still managed to find my way into an Art and Jewelry Gallery (Muse Gallery) and a Boutique (Katherine) and of course with the fabulous assistance of Hubby!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
It was Muse Gallery where hubby got her princess (me lah... who else... heehee)... another anniversary prezzie!!!! I need to rave about the nice Owner and SA of Muse Gallery. Their service was impeccable and were very sweet and patient too. They browsed along with me and picked out all the jewelry styles they thought I'd like to try. Oh ya..... we are in the progress of working on a **Major Project - FOR ME** with them.. Not to reveal too much info at this moment!!!!
